Range
NZDA-BOP Branch has been working with Western Bay of Plenty District Council (WBOPDC) since 1998 to find suitable land for shooting ranges for the BOP shooting community.
In 2004 WBOPDC purchased 1700 Ha of pine forest in Pys Pa Road to develope a “Noisy Sports” park that would cater for all shooting disciplies. This land is now know as the TECT All Terrain Park.
We signed a lease with WBOPDC in August 2010 covering a number of exclusive use area for the development of 200m, 300m, 450m and 900m rifle ranges, and started construction on the 300m centrefire range in December 2010 and it opened in December 2011.
The range is available 7am-10pm 7 days a week for use by NZDA BOP Branch club members who have purchased an annual range ticket, and we run public open days on the last Sunday of every month (9am-3pm) where non members can shoot under supervision of our rostered Nationally Qualified Range Officers. National Qualified Range officers can also supervise private shooting sessions at their discretion (See contact form further down if you want to request a private session).
